Upendo Family Orphanage Projects
We never accepted food from anyone without paying for it....'even while
we were with you, we gave you this rule: "Whoever does not work should not
eat." (2 Thess 3:10). ...we command and exhort by Our Lord Jesus Christ that
with quietness they work, and eat their own bread (3:12).
In the Upendo Family Orphanage Self reliance and self help are the rule. It
is difficult to strictly apply this rule with small children but they must
always contribute to the community according to their capacity and be supplied
according to their needs. This philosophy is important for their own adult
life. They must work not only because they have to feed themselves but because
they have to learn survival economic and social skills so that when they become
19 years they are well equipped to lead their independent life.
